Blog assignment 2

It’s a very attractive online movie and I do appreciate the way that Annie had taken to express herself. I would like to recommend it to my friends.

First of all, I believe that Annie should be respected, not only she is an environmentalist and a proponent of sustainability. As an American, she had spent 20 years and traveled to 40 countries, concerning about all people’s living conditions and the destiny of the earth, even though she was always misunderstood and criticized.

I agree on the points presented in the video, but in my opinion it is not realistic. What a great pity it is! On the one hand the government’s main purpose is not “for the people take care the people”, the government just wants to grasp the political power and defeats the other communities, unfortunately its all depend on tax revenue. In fact government and corporations, there are numerous internal relations between them, they rack their minds to make people working hard, consuming and then obtain maximum profits.
One the other hand, the development of different countries and regions are still in extreme imbalance, and this could not be changed in short term. If a country is experiencing famine, how can the government give up trashing development for climate change?

Anyway, as far as I am concerned, I would like to change some details in my daily life for our finite resource like water, paper, and electricity conservation.

  1. I agree with you about the fact that she's doing something good by trying to inform the people about the problem. Especially the U.S. people need more information about global warming since they seem a bit unconcerned about the problem and refuse to contribute as much as other countries.

  2. Yes, Annie should be respected, even though I don't agree with all she is saying. But everyone who have a strong opinion about something and fights hard to try to make people listen to them deserves respect, even if you don't share the same values and opinions.

“I would like to change some details in my daily life for our finite resource like water, paper, and electricity conservation.” I agree with you here, more people have to think like this, and the way to go is recycling. Well, water is naturally recycled and not really something we are going to run out of, but as you pointed out, paper can very easily be recycled into new paper and ergo... no more problems.
